It's true, man. Give someone a chance to prove themselves after they insist people are being unfairly judgmental and it's distressing how often they will disappoint. When someone is called out for their behavior and they cry foul, and insist everyone is misunderstanding them, I think it's nice to give them a chance to show that they really are the sort of person they insist they are.
And yet...somehow, every time I do it, the person's response demonstrates they are exactly the sort of person they've been judged to be and that even when someone is nice, and fair and helpful, they're the ungrateful hypocrite everyone thinks they are.
Turns out, the masses aren't always as unfair and judgmental as people tend to think.
