I will grow daisies for him, up and through the ground, though I have always been fond of lilies. The soft gentle touches of the earthworms over my skin are a comfort, wiggling fingers that breed sensations against skin that unwittingly turns the color of bleached cobalt. ... It is not such a bad existence, however, feeding the earth. Truly I could ask for no better purpose than to become a garden, for at least a garden is free to love the air, the wind, and the rain...
Excerpts from 's story So soft, your heart It's a rather dark story but so, so beautifully written.
What I quoted above are essentially the sections that were the driving force behind this painting. Though I kind of left out the part where she's a decaying corpse. Well, I guess I wanted to illustrate her soul more than what she really is. The butterflies are there because in my art, butterflies always equate freedom.
I didn't expect to upload the finished product mere hours after uploading the previous version to my scraps but the butterflies didn't take very long given their relatively simple design--as well as the fact that they're all the same.
So yeah. This was one of those that, as soon as the idea hit me, I sat down and worked on it almost without interruption. I wish I could have that much motivation with *every* project I tackle and not just the ones that threaten to melt my brain if I don't obey The Muse. -.-
Incidentally, I thought about calling it "How does your garden grow" *L* I went with something a little more poetic and pretty though.
P.S. Wow...I didn't notice it until I saw the thumbnailed version but geez...Hello Stephanie Law influence, how are you today?
o A o; oh wow. First of all, can I just say what an honor it is to inspire you, even in the slightest sense? T w T; I feel deeply, deeply flattered to have offered influence to such a tremendously beautiful and symbolic piece such as this. As always, your soft, textured colors provide such wonderful blends and tones throughout the piece--from the folds of the scarlet dress to the sky itself. And the ring of butterflies is a phenomenal touch. I love the effect of the symbolism behind it, and your description of what butterflies mean in your work. I love the expressive emotion of the woman herself, which I think you captured perfectly, and I adore the motion in the piece--she looks almost as though she's exhaling the butterflies like she's setting free her soul. the elegance and beauty of this watercolor masterpiece is unbelievable--and yet it's you, so I shouldn't be surprised. Thank you for even bothering to credit me. T w T; I'm so happy you got something out of my work--that's all I could ever hope for~. This is amazing.

Snnnh...gah....this is just awesome *is embarrassed at having not yet read the story this is inspired from The colours are fantastic and the way the trail of butterflies lead you right the way through the piece. This is just incredibly gorgeous!
she looks almost as though she's exhaling the butterflies like she's setting free her soul. That is exactly what I had in mind. I wasn't sure anyone would be able to get that so yay!
I'm just glad you like it because I'm sure it's quite different from what you had in your mind while you were righting.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

For instance, I loathe painting water and look at how many water themed paintings I have. -.- Madness, I tell you.
Thanks though.
