This is one of those ideas that hit me rather randomly and turned out almost precisely the way I wanted.
Well. Apart from the fact that the scanner absolutely *murdered* the colors. As usual. It's not quite so gray--the water really has a beautiful blue-green color that was seriously grayed out (at least on my monitors).
If I didn't have six people hovering over me waiting for the computer, I would have tried to adjust the colors before uploading but I probably won't get the computer again for a week so I thought I'd go ahead and put it up now. So I'll just try to put a more accurate version up sometime soon.
On another note, the recent commission of a pink mermaid, which turned out obscenely monochromatic, sparked new interest in an old idea I had to do a series of monochromatic-ish paintings....so I suppose this might be considered the first of that series. Hopefully I'll finish it (the series that is).
P.S. No, I don't know why that pearl is floating. But I do know that koi don't live in the sea. These are mutant salt water koi...
Thanks. I was mostly happy with the water. I've grown a bit more confident painting it since I've been doing all these mermaid things... XD
P.S. I still have to comment on your Megan story. I just haven't had time to do more than rush through the chapters. But when my charming relatives return to Israel, I shall have more time. And then I'll comment.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
