Mermaid--from 'mere' meaning 'sea' and 'maiden' meaning young virginal woman. Together, you get "Maiden of the Sea." Therefore, this is not a 'male mermaid' (I don't want to even think about that concept...); it is a Merman. That is a "Man of the Sea."

I'll accept merguy, merboy or even merdude. But please...no male mermaids. :ohnoes:

With that out of the way, this is the second in the series of color themed merfolk. No, they won't all have wings but since black is the opposite of white, I wanted this to be a counterpoint to Pristine.

I think Orange is going to be next...XD

Merdude is pretty cool:) I have to say this piece is stunning. The colour choice, detail, tone it all makes it feel so alive and balanced. Fantastic work as per usual :D

Wow, the composition in this is fantastic! I love love LOVE the way his body is arching back out of the water and across the painting, and the addition of wings makes him even more awesome! I vote that this Merman deserves a name! (...because I think i'm crushing, just slightly. lol). That little oddity confessed, I have to say that I think this is one of my favorites of yours yet. It's beautiful. Great work *claps*
